What is Peace Band?
Peace Band is a step challenge launching in January 2021. Pick your distance and decide how you want to take on the challenge.
Together we can cover the distance of the world (that’s 24,901 miles!) to raise money for War Child’s work supporting children growing up in conflict zones.
Walk, wheel, run, climb, skip, or take on a sporting challenge – however you want to get your steps in, it all counts! Go it alone or gather friends, family or colleagues and take on the challenge together.
Simply sign up and create your fundraising page, and share with people you know who might like to sponsor you.
When is Peace Band?
Peace Band will take place from the 1st January – 11th February 2021.
Where is Peace Band?
Peace Band is not set in one place - anyone, anywhere can take part! You can complete your challenge in the comfort of your own garden, your own city or if you would like, somewhere entirely new. It is totally up to you.

Click here to create your individual JustGiving fundraising page. Choose how many miles you want to take on and then simply share your page with people you know who might like to sponsor you.
How do I set up a team page?
If you would prefer to not to go it alone, team up with friends, family or colleagues and take on the challenge together! If you’re setting up a team, you’ll need a team name and a team fundraising target. You can either create your team straight after you’ve created your individual page, or you can create one at any time by going to your individual page, clicking ‘Edit page’, and then navigating to the Team tab.
How can I edit my team page?
You can only edit your team’s details if you were the one who created the team. If you are the creator, you can click the ‘Edit page’ button where you will see the option to edit your team page. You’ll be able to edit the Team name, fundraising target and story.
How do I join someone's team?

Do I have to complete the challenge in one go?
No, you do not have to complete your challenge in one go. Your challenge can last one day, one week or the whole 6 weeks. Whatever works best for you!
When do I need to register by?
To give yourself as much time as possible to complete your challenge, we recommend signing up by 31st December so that you are ready to go when Peace Band begins on 1st January. Don’t worry if you sign up later than that! You can still register and get involved throughout January.
Is there a registration fee?
There is no registration fee to take part.
Is there a minimum amount I need to raise?
The target amount for each person to raise is £125. This will automatically be set as the target on your fundraising page, you can of course increase this if you would like.
How do people sponsor me?
Your individual JustGiving page will have its own link for you to share so everyone can donate directly towards your challenge. Any donations made on your page will automatically go to War Child UK.
What if I have received donations outside of the platform?
If you have raised any of your donations outside of the JustGiving site, the best way to send these in is via cheque or bank transfer. Please email fundraising@warchild.org.uk and a member of our team will be able to provide you with instructions.
Who are War Child UK?
War Child is striving for a world where children’s lives are no longer torn apart by war. We protect, educate, and stand up for the rights of children caught up in conflict.
We raise vital funds to reach children as early as possible when conflict breaks out and stay to support them after the conflicts ends. Our work helps to keep children safe, provide an education, and equip them with life skills for the future.
